In summary: This is the venue most Maui lists still call The Steeple House. That name is retired. It trades as Maui Pineapple Chapel, it is a 1950s plantation church at the north end of West Maui, and it is one of very few venues on the island that publishes its full price list on its own website. Ceremony only is $1,500. Ceremony and reception for up to 80 guests is $4,000. It did not burn in the 2023 Lahaina fire, despite carrying a Lahaina postal address.
The name confusion, and why it matters
Search Maui wedding venues and you will still find The Steeple House on directory sites, some with the old domain attached. It is the same building at the same address, and even The Knot kept the original listing and simply renamed it. If you are comparing quotes or reading old reviews, they are about this venue. It was not in the burn zone
The address reads Lahaina, HI 96761, which is a postal code covering the whole of West Maui rather than Lahaina town. The chapel sits at Napili, roughly six miles north of the town that burned in August 2023. It was evacuated, not destroyed. Four separate couples have publicly reviewed weddings held here since the fire, the most recent in April 2026.

What the fee includes, per the venue: access from 10:00am to 11:00pm, a dressing suite, a catering kitchen, indoor and outdoor Bluetooth sound, parking for 40 cars, and a weather backup space.
This is a blank canvas venue, so catering, bar, rentals and coordination are yours to arrange and to budget separately. The published figure is the building, not the wedding.
The three spaces
The Chapel is the original 1950s church, 1,500 square feet, white walls with a warm wooden floor and ceiling. The Mauu Terrace is a garden terrace looking toward the ocean. The Makai Lawn is the ocean side lawn and is the space that gets tented for larger numbers. The Dragon’s Teeth lava formation is a short walk away and Ironwoods Beach is about a minute by car, which is where a lot of the photography happens.

Note the tension in that last row. The top package is sold for up to 500 guests but the on site restrooms are rated for 150, so a large wedding here needs portable facilities on top of the tent. Ask how that is handled and who pays for it.
What we could not confirm
We publish what the venue publishes and we say so when a number is missing. These are the gaps as of our last check:
- A photographer’s guide published in April 2026 says the lease is changing and that the venue may be managed by the Ritz-Carlton from 2027. The author hedges it with “I believe”, so it is unconfirmed, but it is material. Ask whether bookings for 2027 and later are secure.
- The hard cutoff time for amplified music, and whether it differs indoors versus on the Makai Lawn.
- Whether the published prices hold for 2027 dates, and what deposit, cancellation terms and Hawaii general excise tax sit on top.
- Whether the $5,000 tier includes the tent and additional restrooms for 500 guests, or whether those are separate costs.
- The legal operating entity. The venue names an owner but publishes no company.

Where this fits on Maui
If you want a ceremony in a real building rather than on a lawn, and you want to know the price before you make a phone call, this is close to the only answer on the island. The trade is that it is a raw space, so your true cost is this fee plus catering, bar, rentals and a planner.
