In summary: Everything Maui-specific about planning your wedding lives here — the beach permit rules, the honest cost breakdown, the 12-month timeline, and the questions that save you from expensive surprises. Start with the two guides below; they answer 80% of what couples ask us.

The essential guides

The 12-month timeline (short version)

12–18 months out: lock venue and photographer (they book first). 9–12: planner or coordinator, remaining vendor team, guest travel block. 6: attire, invitations, menu tasting. 3: timeline draft, rentals confirmed, licenses researched. 1: marriage license (valid 30 days — don’t get it too early), final counts, weather plan. Week of: license agent appointment, rehearsal, sunscreen.

Questions to ask every venue

What does the fee exclude? What’s the rain plan, specifically? What time can vendors load in? Is there a sound ordinance or hard end time? Which planners/photographers work here most — and can we see a full wedding gallery shot on-site?

More guides are publishing regularly. Want them as they land? Say hello or start with the 60-second planner.
